In a remarkable display of unity, transparency, and vision, the Union Bank Officers’ Association (Kerala State) has successfully completed the acquisition of a flat in Kochi. This milestone is the result of a meticulously planned and collectively funded initiative—one that highlights the power of responsible trade unionism and the strength of member solidarity.
The total levy collected from members for this purpose amounted to ₹73,66,009, which was prudently placed in a fixed deposit on 18th April 2024. The interest earned until 31st May 2025 stood at ₹5,34,875, bringing the total available fund to ₹79,00,884.
After a fair and rigorous selection process, which included issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) and evaluating 12 shortlisted properties, the Association finalised a flat that best suited our vision and member needs. The chosen property, located at Infra Proxim, near Changampuzha Park Metro Station, Edapally, is a ready-to-occupy 3BHK flat (1412 sq. ft) with a covered car parking space and excellent connectivity in the heart of Kochi.
The total cost of the property, including TDS, was ₹72.5 lakhs, with an estimated registration and stamp duty of ₹7.25 lakhs—bringing the total project cost to ₹79.75 lakhs. A small shortfall of ₹74,116 will be met from the Association’s Welfare Fund.
This flat will soon be developed into a Guest House / Transit Home for our members, offering subsidised accommodation and functioning as a strategic hub for Association activities in Kochi. The location, being centrally situated, also ensures easy access for travelling officers.
We take immense pride in the fact that this entire endeavour—from the transparent handling of funds to the fair property selection—was carried out with utmost integrity. Every officer who contributed can rightfully take pride in this achievement, knowing their support has translated into a permanent, functional asset for the collective good. This is more than just a real estate purchase—it is a symbol of what we can accomplish together. We thank every member for their trust, patience, and unwavering belief in our collective strength. This milestone marks a new chapter for UBOA Kerala—one built on solidarity, accountability, and vision.
