A graduate with Master’s degrees in both English and Hindi from Government Women’s College, Trivandrum, Comrade Sobha L. Nair’s academic foundation was shaped by a deep passion for language and communication. Over the years, her remarkable work ethic and innate leadership skills propelled her through the ranks, from General Banking Officer in 2004 to Scale 2 Officer in 2006, and ultimately to Scale 3 Officer in 2014. These early leadership roles set the stage for her broader influence, which only grew stronger over time.
She was appointed as the Deputy General Secretary in 2019 and in 2020 Comrade Sobha was made Vice President of the AIUBOF as well as the Chairperson of the Union Bank Officers Association (UBOA) Kerala State. In 2022, she ascended to the dual roles of National Women’s Wing Convenor of AIUBOF and Vice President (Women’s Wing) of AIBOC, further solidifying her leadership in advocating for the rights of working women, within the banking sector.
What truly sets Comrade Sobha apart as a trade union leader is her rare ability to lead with both empathy and strength.
