The Union Bank Officers Association (Kerala State) stands as a beacon of collective strength, born from a resolute vision to safeguard the dignity, rights, and professional aspirations of officers. Established on October 3rd, 1971 at the Aluva Lead Office by 27 committed officers, our Association emerged from the necessity for genuine representation, distinct from the broader employees’ movement.
What began as a bold step towards independent advocacy has grown into a dynamic and resilient organisation representing officers across Kerala and select branches in Tamil Nadu. Our foundation rests on the belief that officers deserve focused attention to their unique professional challenges and welfare needs.

History
The formative years were steered by pioneering leaders like Com. N.S. Iyer, Com. P.S. Padmanabhan, Com. P.S.G. Nair, and Com. S. Mukundan, who courageously led the Association through testing times, including the 93-day Employee Union agitation of 1973. Their leadership laid the foundation for a legacy of principled struggle and progressive transformation.
This legacy was strengthened further under the stewardship of Com. V.G. Laxmanan and Com. C.L. Thomas, followed by a transformative era led by Com. P.B. Thomas and Com. K. Padmanabhan in the 1990s and 2000s, marked by our robust affiliation with AIUBOF and a growing influence at both state and national levels.
The post-2010 period witnessed a new wave of energy, driven by fresh recruitments and organisational expansion. Since 2015, under the inspiring leadership of Com. Sreenath Induchoodan, the Association has reached new heights, with his role as State General Secretary of AIBOC Kerala since 2020 and active participation in the 12th Bipartite Settlement negotiations. Today, we are proud to represent over 97% of officers in Kerala, a testament to our credibility, commitment, and unity. The Association actively supports its members through legal assistance and undertakes collective organisational action whenever circumstances demand a united response.
