Clarity on nominations for Terminal Benefits and other Staff Welfare Schemes has always been a critical concern. You may recall the issue we had earlier raised regarding NPS nominations.

In one unfortunate instance, an officer had submitted his NPS nomination prior to marriage. As per NPS regulations, any change in family status—such as marriage or acquiring dependents—mandates a fresh nomination. However, many of us have not updated our nominations even after such significant life events. This lapse caused avoidable complications for the bereaved family and delayed the rightful benefits.

We took up this matter with our HR Central Office, and following our discussions, Corporate Office Mumbai has now issued Staff Circular No. 101284 dated 27.11.2025, clearly detailing the rules and procedures for nomination and re-nomination in:
• Provident Fund (PF)
• Gratuity
• NPS
• Death Relief / Union Sahayog
• Medical Insurance
• Funeral Expenses Scheme

Please ensure that your nominations are correctly registered and updated across all benefit schemes. This small but crucial step guarantees that in the event of any unforeseen circumstance, your loved ones receive the eligible benefits smoothly and without any hardship.
