Had the privilege of meeting the Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri M.K. Raghavan, and discussing key issues of national significance on behalf of AIBOC Kerala.

During the meeting, we requested the Hon. MP to write to the Government regarding the proposed privatisation of IDBI Bank, a matter that forms part of AIBOC’s ongoing national campaign. Shri Raghavan kindly assured that he would take up the issue on priority.

We also apprised him of several critical concerns, including the recent amendments in the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) guidelines, which permit private candidates to be considered for the positions of MD and ED in SBI and other public sector banks. In addition, we discussed the increasing work stress and imbalance faced by officers, the need for timely recruitment, the long-standing demand for five-day banking, and the potential implications of further mergers and consolidations in the banking sector.

The Hon. MP expressed his solidarity with the officers’ fraternity and assured us of his continued support. He promised to take up these issues with the opposition leadership and raise them effectively both inside and outside Parliament.
